Reading a certificate.
- Batch number
- Check it first. It must match the batch on your product or invoice.
- Laboratory and sign-off
- Who ran the analysis and who signed the report.
- Dates
- When the sample was taken and when the analysis was completed. A report may state how long it remains valid.
- Matrix
- The kind of material tested, for example resin or oil. The results apply to that material only.
- Safety panels
- Tests such as pesticides, heavy metals, microbials, mycotoxins, residual solvents and foreign material, each marked as passed, failed or not tested.
- Cannabinoid profile
- The measured content of each cannabinoid in that batch, including THC.
- ND and LOD
- “ND” means not detected: below the laboratory’s limit of detection (LOD) for that compound.
- Terpenes
- Some reports add a terpene profile.
